MISSION STATEMENT

The Strasburg Heritage Society was incorporated as a non-profit organization, April 26, 1972, with the stated objective of:

1. The PRESERVATION of historic buildings, artifacts and documents.
2. The EDUCATION of local residents to the advantages and wisdom of preserving elements of the past;
3. The RESTORATION of historic buildings; and
4. The development of a deeper APPRECIATION of the areas rich cultural inheritance.

SHS has worked to compile and publish a 400 page cookbook which went to print 16 times. A Photographic book was released in 1976 and has been reprinted 5 times. Both are still available today for sale in support of the Heritage Society operations.

PHOTOGRAPHS

Photographs were invented in the 1830's. The photographs on this site have been resurrected from attics, cellars, albums, and archives, because they have something worthwhile to tell us about the people of Strasburg. They are a personal expedition into the past.

BOARD MEMBERS

The Strasburg Heritage Society board members are made up of a diverse set of individuals from many walks of life. Some have been directly involved in the operations of the organization since becoming incorporated in 1971.
