The Heritage Museum
With much regret, the Society has found that it is unable to continue to operate the Heritage Center Museum for public visits. We continue to see adequate funding to permit the museum to be open. In the meantime, work continues on researching and restoring the circa 1790 "Shroy House", at 122 South Decatur Street, the first historic property purchased by the Society. On the days of our special events listed above and on Saturdays you can see the clues to life in the 18th and 19th centuries that have been uncovered by architectural history detectives. When restoration is completed, this building will be our museum, housing the many antiques, artifacts and documents that the society has acquired.
